As an inexperienced visitor, what are the do’s and don’t of the day? PDF Print E-mail
  • Do introduce yourself to the Field Master and the Secretary when arriving at the meet.
  • Don’t take your horse too close to the hounds at the meet.
  • Do make sure you know who the Field Master of the day is and follow him/her at all times.
  • Don’t go riding off on your own as you may get lost or go on to restricted property.
  • Do be polite to farmers, landowners and road users and anyone who opens and closes gates.
  • Don’t make too much noise when the hounds are working.
  • Do make sure young children are accompanied by an experienced adult.
  • Do give young and inexperienced horses plenty of room in order to avoid accidents to other members of the field.
